Orange River Tankers originally started as a family business in 1981, with WHC Barnard as the founder. Situated in a region traditionally known for the production of raisins, the growth of the wine industry in the Orange River region demanded an increase in transportation of bulk wines to clients in the bigger centres, creating the opportunity to expand the company’s logistic operations.

Orange River Tankers has grown from its establishment in 1981, with ten full-time employees and six vehicles to fifty employees and a fleet of twenty six trucks and tankers in 2005, when Orange River Cellars took over the company. With a young dynamic management team the company keeps expanding and currently employ more than hundred employees.

This specialised tanker transport company has more than 30 years of experience in the transport of bulk wines and related products and differentiate them from the rest though high standards and quality service, exceeding customers’ expectations.
